Advanced Laboratory for Visual Anthropology

The CSU Chico Anthropology Department wanted a custom website developed to showcase the activities of their Advanced Laboratory for Visual Anthropology, aka ALVA.

The documentary video content coming out of ALVA had been picking up traction in the media in recent years and the directors of the program wanted a place online that would feature their newest work going forward and give users access to videos and information about previous work.

I designed and developed this site from the ground up as a responsive web experience. I also modified the logo slightly - making the decision to enclose it in a solid-colored circle both for emphasis and to help it resonate with other elements on the page.

This was the first responsive site I ever designed, so looking back on it now I see things I would have handled differently, but all things considered I think it still holds up rather nicely.
